Capital Conservation Buffer

The capital conservation buffer is a buffer of capital above the minimum Tier 1 capital requirement, consisting of CET1, that can be drawn on in times of stress. The aim of the buffer is to prevent firms from making distributions during times when they are experiencing financial difficulties.
