Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (a/k/a Freddie Mac). FHLMC is a US government sponsored entity (GSE) that purchases mortgage loans from lenders and issues and guarantees MBS. FHLMC was placed into a federal conservatorship in 2008 pursuant to HERA.
