POS

Point of Sale. The place where sales are made. On a macro level, a point of sale may be a mall, market, or city. On a micro-level, retailers consider a point of sale to be the area surrounding the counter where customers pay. For financial instruments, it refers to the point at which the customer or investor commits to invest in a particular product. From a financial regulatory perspective, there has been recent focus on the information to be disclosed to the investor prior to the point of sale, including the proposed KID.
